Removing Oil Stains

How many times have you tightened your chain at the last minute only to find your favourite pair of jeans with a newly acquired oil stain?

Well before you summon them to the bin try this if you’re washing machine lets you down.

Take some hand cleaner, such as swarfega, and rub into into the stain when the jeans are dry and wash the excess off with cold water.

Normal detergent should remove the rest in the washing machine saving you the cost of a new pair.

If it doesn’t work first time, do it again for more stubborn stains taking care not to wash the soiled garment with your partners favourite white t shirt.

Cleaning your wheels

Washing bike wheels can be a real pain as it’s hard to get into the nooks and crannies even with a fine brush.

Buy yourself a “Vileda Supermop” typically used for kitchen floors. Its fabric strips are great for reaching every part of your wheels and its absorbent which helps too. Costs around £3 from your local supermarket.

Remove the grime from your back wheel with a sponge soaked in petrol.
