Think Bike Campaign
At the next Regional Meeting we will be launching a poster and flyer campaign bringing back the driver awareness campaign of the Mid 80s
"Think Once, Think Twice, Think Bike!"
Members will have the opportunity to come up with three to four slogans of this nature which will be printed off in their thousands and handed out to drivers in our major towns and cities over the remaining part of the year at least
We have ordered posters from the DOE (Are Motorcycles Your Blind Spot?) which will be put up in various waiting areas from Taxi Depots to workplaces and hope to back the whole campaign up with various press releases
Active members have agreed to hand out thousands of statistical flyers on the street in a bid to get the message of Think Bike through to the general public. Those of us old enough to remember the original campaign appreciate that the motto was known in every household and often quoted in the family car at the mere sight of a motorcycle. It worked then and we hope to bring it back to drivers in Northern Ireland
Other suggestions from members so far include
Spare a Thought - we are 40 times more vulnerable than you
At Junctions - watch out for motorcycles
Now you see me - Now you Don't - Now you see me
The next Regional Meeting (Mid Antrim MAG Meeting) takes place on Wednesday 11 August 04 at 7.30pm in the BTPO Club in Ballymena
