Thunderdome Café
The Motorcycle Action Group in Northern Ireland wishes to extend its best wishes to the newly opened Thunderdome Café in Glengormley.
The new themed restaurant, pioneered by local businessman Frank McNeill is situated in Farrier Court on the Antrim Road. The sports and film buff began his career as a barman in Belfast's Midland Hotel, owned a frozen foods business, a café and a bar before building the family restaurant.
The £2.3m Thunderdome Cafe will stimulate development in the centre of Glengormley and has created more than 60 jobs. Among its attractions are Joey Dunlop's TT motorcycle, Carlos Sainz's Toyota rally car and memorabilia from the world of sport and show business. Being the biggest themed restaurant of its sort in the whole of Ireland it promises to be a huge success.
Every aspect of the restaurant (capable of catering for 300 customers) has been carefully planned right down to the special Children’s area where cartoons are shown to keep children entertained while their parents enjoy a meal.
"I've been working night and day to make the place a success, but I hope to take time off soon to enjoy some fly fishing," he said.
Frank wishes to emphasise that the family restaurant is biker friendly and his prices are as appetising as his menu. The restaurant is already playing host to some of the country’s best-known clubs and organisations.
